Sanctuary

Traveling through Georgia in November of 2016, not long after Hurricane Mathew had ripped through the southern USA, heart sick at the signs of wreckage Mathew left behind. The ravaged places we passed through weighed our hearts down for days as we drove on. Then, unexpectedly, the place which inspired this print. The first in many days, seemingly unscathed. Here, incredibly, trails still wound through sunlit woodland, and an intact boardwalk still spanned a silent lake to a shoreline of trees blazing with colour. We stood, just breathing. Acknowledging the gift. Please note: Minor variations are possible, as a result of the technique by which reduction prints are made, and are what makes each print in the edition a ‘unique art piece’.
