Jack in the Green
$70.00 CAD
This is my rendition of the Green Man, an icon that has been around for centuries yet remains mysterious as to it’s origins. Some believe Jack in the Green images date back to Celtic mythology and others believe the legends didn’t start spreading throughout Europe until the 12th Century.
During the Gothic Age, Jack in the Green images spread throughout Europe and appeared in random places. They’ve been found on the columns of cathedrals, in images of Christ and the Madonna, or within a setting of vines and florals.
Please note: Minor variations are possible, as a result of the technique by which reduction prints are made, and are what makes each print in the edition a ‘unique art piece’.
