Vacation, en route to California, driving through Oregon. A hot August day. Driving fast…highway speed…the scenery outside was ribbons of colour: the blue of the sky, the pale gold of the sun-bleached grass cut by a belt of green, and then the deeper gold of more, and longer, dried grass. Impossible to snap a picture so, sketchbook on road-shook knees I jot down a quick sketch and made some notes. And that’s where this print was born. Please note: Minor variations are possible, as a result of the technique by which reduction prints are made, and are what makes each print in the edition a ‘unique art piece’.
