In the Gold of the Larches

Generally, stunning autumn colours are usually associated with Canada’s east coast. But here, in the west Kootenays of British Columbia, the forests blaze into gold each fall. The Kootenays have some of Canada’s highest concentrations of Alpine and Western Larches and these trees light up the mountains between September and November each year. This print is inspired by a grove of larches along the trails near our home. Please note: Minor variations are possible, as a result of the technique by which reduction prints are made, and are what makes each print in the edition a ‘unique art piece’.
