Passion Flower

Why do they call it a Passion Flower? Were these plants, before they appeared in garden centres everywhere, so hard to find that wanting a Passion Flower vine for your garden inspired great longing and violent passions, much like some rare orchids have done? Please note: Minor variations are possible, as a result of the technique by which reduction prints are made, and are what makes each print in the edition a ‘unique art piece’.
